oil filter
oil leaking on to exhuast pipe and burning
Coolant leak.
Probably a coolant leak.
Taurus. ;)
AnswerThere should be one under the hood somewhere, but it may be gone, if the car was ever wrecked, and the bodyshop didn't transfer the sticker. I would pay attention to how the belts came off. In fact, if you really want a diagram, draw one before you remove the old belts. Or download a copy from the links in the Related Question below
Born on May 4th, you would be born under the sign of Taurus.
You have a blown head gasket
AnswerThere may be a sticker under the hood somewhere that shows the routing of the belts. I can't swear about a 2000 Ford Taurus, but other Fords have this sticker. It might be over the radiator, or on the fender wells, or on the hood itself. They used to be silver with black printing. Look around. Good luck.
Tighten the belts
that would be a head gasket
Elictrical fire or burnt out relay. Look for physical signs of fire, burnt wires. Where there's smoke there's fire
is there a fuse box under the dash on a 1999 ford taurus
Not likely. Smoke from under the hood denotes a leak. Either your coolant or oil is leaking. White, thick smoke is oil. Could just be a gasket. Thinner hazy smoke is coolant. Check your hoses. Look for fluids/wet spots. Bad plugs can missfire, and make your exhaust smoke.
