What would cause bumpy red rash in armpits?

Allergic reaction to deodorants would be the first cause or a heat rash. It's possible you have a yeast infection caused by heat. Try putting zinc oxcide on it. this is a cream you can purchase over the counter. Most often used for burns but works for a lot of rashes and sores.

have you taken any new medication lately? especially a "generic" form? they contain fillers from china and India that can cause serious allergic reactions. i got the same thing on my back after taking generic wellbutrin (bupropion) to quit smoking. it was horrible. the itching darn near caused me to lose my mind and i'd scratch until i was bleeding. try some benadryl. that was the only thing that helped me - and it took several days of benadryl to get it under control.

Sometimes this can be caused by shaving under your arms too much. It is when the hair under your arms is trying to grow back, and you shave it again; this causes it to curl back in on itself, and makes red dots/ a rash. A rash on your underarm can also be caused by becoming hot and sweaty. If this is the case you shouldn't always hold your arms to your sides. Occasionally let them air out. Rubbing is also another form of getting a rash. When your underarm is wet/sweaty, and you are rubbing it in on itself, e.g. mving your arms whilst running/walking. If simptoms like this occur, but have nothing to do with the above, you should contat a doctor.

Just to clarify more: I have had them for 3 years. They have gone away numerous times and keep coming back. They are circular, stay on my lower arms and hands, non itching, sometimes I get small ones on my face (not so circular -- more across nose and cheeks) but not as much as the arms. When they go away on my arms they leave white marks like scars. (like my skin has been depigmented).

change your deodorant you probally are allergic to the one you use now, or maybe you're not washing as often as you should and the rash is coming from you scratching it
