That's kinda weird. I have a guess, though. I'd check for loose connections in the light sockets or wiring, primarily a loose ground wire.

If you are referring to the shift position indicator located next to the shift lever - YES, it is supposed to be illuminated when the headlights (not the DRL's) are activated.

the vaccume lines are disconnected and I cant drive at night The headlights are held in the open or closed position by an over-center spring. You can push the headlight up from underneath and it will stay in the open position.

While the ignition is in the ON position, follow this sequence:Turn your headlights to the parking position and then OFF 3x's.
To aim the Mitsubishi Galant Headlights open the engine compartment of the vehicle. Locate the headlights and use a screwdriver on the vertical adjustment screw positioned on top of the headlight. This screw will allow adjustment for position where the light will shine.

You turn it one notch from the off position
unscrew the front bumber section covering bottom of headlights, unscrew actual headlights and remove wires, remove headlights, check all the rights bulbs are in right position, attach wires to the new headlights then screw them on, wack the bumber back on, then ur done m8, that simple.
