All ferret have seasonal coat changes, and in unaltered ferrets it coincides with their reproduction cycles as they are seasonal breeders. Female ferrets seasonal coat change occurs five or six weeks after the beginning of estrus. Seasonal hair loss in unaltered ferrets are more pronounced as compared to altered ferrets. advice from other contributors:
Well, if they are pregnant, they mated with male ferrets. They are not losing their hair. Female ferrets, when they are pregnant, will pull out their hair to make a nest for their babies. Good luck!
Raw meat is a ferrets natural diet - they are strict carnivores Feeding ferrets a natural diet does not cause them to bite. I have 3 ferrets all of which are fed a raw diet. There is no connection between feeding a diet that is natural to a ferret and aggression towards humans. I can tell you this from my own personal experience and the experience of others both in present times and historically. Feeding ferrets raw meat will not cause them to bite. Ferrets are strict carnivores - meat eaters - they have to eat meat in able to survive and before they were domesticated, raw meat was the diet. Ferrets naturally bite as young kits and need to be trained not to bite. Abused ferrets are "fear biters"
both
No. Ferrets are not related at all to rats. Rats are rodents, ferrets are related to skunks, polecats, otters, and weasels. Ferrets are more like the responsibility of a cat or dog, as they are very very social and need attention at all times. Please if you are getting a ferret, DO NOT put wood shavings or newspaper as their bedding. They need soft blankets, hammocks, and even old t-shirts would work. The shavings cause problems with their lungs, and is really bad for them!!
it would depend on which type of hampster and if u want to have an energenic big bugger or an energenic little bugger. i love both hampsters and ferrets, so its all up to you!
no, there's only two to my knowledge, regular ferrets and angora (longhair) ferrets, but both types come in many different coat colors. Edited answer No, There's only to to my knowlede, Marshell and angora (longhair) ferrets, but both types come in many different coat colors.
no it can cause harm to the baby i am on both tablets and have had to be taken off them because it can cause malformations do not take it
they are in the weasel family, and the skunk family.Yes, both ferrets and weasels and minks belong to the family mustelidae.
Domestic ferrets have no relationship with prairie dogs. Black footed ferrets are predators of prairie dogs, which is their main food source. The black footed ferrets uses the prairie dog burrows to live in.
Ferrets like to sleep in soft materials so they can burrow under and be covered. Do not use materials with a loose weave because sometimes their nails will catch on threads. DO NOT USE ANY WOOD OR PINE SHAVINGS BEDDING MATERIALS . It can cause respiratory problems for ferrets and possible illnessADVICE FROM OTHER CONTRIBUTORS:I'm not a scientist, but I'm a dedicated ferret owner, and I would strongly suggest a fuzzy blanket. Ferrets like fuzzy and soft things, much like humans, and I think they would hate wood shavings. Remember not to keep your ferrets is a cage the whole day- they're very playful and need exercise.i agree i own ferrets too and i have a hammock that hangs from the top of the cage with a fuzzy blanket in it they love itSo do I! For ferrets I would also suggest using newspapers instead of litter- evidently both work, but mine used the litter as confetti, and presumed to go to the bathroom on the floor.
Same about meerkats and ferrets - they are both burrowing animals
They are about the same. I have both ferrets and a dog.
It would be both.
