I had a wire broke from rubbing againt something going to the front abs sensors by the brakes / after i repaired the broken wires the lights went out n everything works ok
AnswerIf this were my car, I would replace the brake light switch ( near the brake pedal ). This could be the problem and is about the cheapest thing to start with. Good luck.check the ground connection at the taillights a bad ground will cause this
Probably a bad or mis-adjusted brake light switch
I have the same problem on my 2001 Olds Intrigue. It appears to be a leak in the trunk deck at the point where the power connects through for the brake light in the spoiler.
SWITCH
Check the brake light bulbs, one may be incorrectly installed.
Brake light switch either out of adjustment or defective Should be located at upper end of brake pedal under dash
Lots of bizarre possibilities - but the one you should check out is: What if your hand brake cable is frozen, holding the hand breaks on? This will wear out your main breaks (or at least the rear ones) ... as well as lower your mileage.
Is it the parking brake light or the ABS light? is it red light or amber?
The brake light switch is under the dash, and whenever the brake pedal is touched the brake light comes on. If the switch has failed or is out of adjustment it will leave the brake light on.
The most likely cause is low-brake fluid.
The most probable cause is that the brake light switch is out of adjustment.
A short in the brake light circuit.
