Hi... Try pulling the stick down to 1st (with foot on brake and tow haul button depressed...don't let it go yet) then move the stick up into 2nd and then to Drive...does it work now???
seems to be a loose connection in the wiring at the base steering column
If you have a rubber boot around the gear shift...take a peek inside, you may be able to get to the wires,,,a contact spray may work. good luck
The wire in the steering column has to much strain on it and it snaped. Easy fix if you extra wire laying around. Just rip the steering column apart
if it has the tow haul mode that is probably what is causing it , the trans is designed to do that to reduce slipping when it shifts , this reduces the wear on the clucth packs an the it will last a lot longer
it does only when in drive with the tow/haul button off
I found an adapter of the Silverado plug connector at the local U-Haul Store.
Press the tow/haul button at the end of the shifter. 2000 Chevy Silverado LT Ext Cab 4 dr 5.3L 4x4 Z71

Lots of things, most of them engine problems ( assuming you your parking brake is not set on and your tires all have air.) The cheapest to fix would be badly adjusted or worn carbuerator and/or spark plugs and spark plug wires - this is what the typical engine tune-up would fix. More serious engine probles such as bad piston rings or warped valves would cause slow acceleration and would require an over-haul.
The Chevy Silverado 2500 handles great in very cold climates. It is built to haul and handle in all types of conditions. The designers have cold weather in mind when designing the truck, and they included remote start.
Try U-Haul they may have a kit with instructions
To hoist is to lift above or 'up' and haul would be to drag or carry in a lateral motion or forward.
