The normal cause is a failed seal behind the tail light assembly. Remove the tail lights and check the foam seals.

What would cause this to happen?? Just bought the car looks like it has been garage kept, in great condition, until it rained. Water not present anywhere else but the trunk. Has Honda had a recall on this issue, can it be fixed???

Bad rubber seal around trunk lid?
On your brake peddle there is a switch it is either bad or stuck, most likely.
get the person out pf your trunk...lol
Your mother in law is in the trunk. Not really; don't know.
If I did it would be because there is a flaw in the gasket that seals the trunk lid. To find it take a flashlight and have an assistant with keys close you in the trunk. Have your assistant run water from a hose over the trunk lid while you look at the seal from inside. You will find your leak.
a rapist in your trunk
Gasket that surrounds the trunk lid is bad or damaged.
I would suspect a tire out of balance. Have your tires balanced and see if it goes away.
