If the all wheel drive stops working on a 1999 Bravada, there could be something wrong with the electrical sensors. There may also be a problem with some of the electrical wiring.
usually Smart-Trac all-wheel drive
Rear wheels if it is four wheel drive or rear wheel drive.
smart trac always on
The 2000 bravada is a smart trak therefore it stays in all wheel drive all the time, the only way to make it not all wheel drive is to remove the front drive shaft going from the transfer case to the front end. Also do no put different size tires on the front and back while both shafts are in because this causes the rear end to spin at one speed and the front end to spin in another direction, and this will cause your transer case to grenade.
Any tansfercase motor is to switch from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive. It is located behide the transfer case and it has 6-7 wire plug. Only automatic push button 4 wheel drive trucks have the transfer case motor.
could be the 4 wheel drive module located behind the glove compartment. If you don"t hear a click when you press the button to engage the module isn't working.
No switch it is an all wheel drive system, I think it is 30% front wheels and 70% rear wheels, and gives more traction to the wheels that slip automaticly. That is why it is called a SMARTRAC. They are great in the winter.
On the Bravada smartrack the oil filter is located under the front bumper .On the blazer 2 wheel drive the oil filter is located under or in the engine. What I'm trying to say basicaly is that the Bravada has rubber seals in place where the oil filters where orginaly placed on the 4.3 motor
i have a 95 Chevy astro van.what would cause the all wheel drive to work sometimes but not all the time?
There are literally 100 different things that can cause your four-wheel-drive not to work. The most common cause is a disconnected wire on the four-wheel-drive selector switch.
In most cases, no. The only way I can think of that would make the 4 wheel drive stop working is if the wheel bearing completely froze up the wheel and ended up breaking a u-joint or CV joint.
NO it will not. The center shaft in the 2-wheel drive transmissions are shorter then the 4-wheel drive transmission cause there is no need for a transfur case on the 2-wheel drives.
