Global warming, the gases form a blanket around the earth and the heat or radiation produced by the earth cannot escape from the planet and as such the temperature rises resulting in a warmer Earth.

Water vapor, the most plentiful and common green house gas will fall out of the sky naturally when the levels get too high. We call this event rain.

CO2, the second most common gas has two very different beliefs being touted.

View 1

CO2's affect is at saturation around 100PPM of concentration and that going above this point does very little. There is also an attached belief that increases in CO2 cause increases in vegetation which help cool the planet.

View 2

CO2 levels will not saturate at any workable level. If levels of CO2 double in the next 100 years, temps could rise (assuming no additional driver) as much as 6° C. Water vapor increases due to this amount of warming could cause a positive feedback and make this issue worse.

Methane is next on our list and far less controversial. It is fairly will understood that increases in this gas are due to mankind, save for that released from thawing permafrost. Levels will currently reach 1.7 ppm and it has considerable forcing associated with it.

The current warming since the low temps of the last mini ice age has been recorded as high as 0.7 degrees C (1850 to 1938). The rate of change since 1980 has increased to 1.6° C per century.

It isn't the number of greenhouse gases that is the problem so much as the overall quantity of them. We are discovering the answer the hard way. Earth's temperature will rise another two degrees just on the basis of the gas we have already released.

If the Earth had too much greenhouse gases the temperature will increase, but if there wasn't any greenhouse gases the Earth would grow colder.

Too high levels of greenhouse gas cause an enhanced greenhouse effect, which means the earth's average temperature is rising. This is the cause of global warming.

How do you know whether a gas is greenhouse gas i.e how a greenhouse gas is different from non-greenhouse gas?

A greenhouse gas is a gas (with at least three atoms) that traps heat inside the earth's atmosphere. Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide and methane. It is important that some heat is trapped inside our atmosphere - otherwise the earth would freeze. But too much heat has a negative impact on the climate.

Would could happen in the future with greenhouse gas?

flap could flap and the flap could explode the flap earth

What greenhouse gases do in the atmosphere?

Greenhouse gases keep the earth warm.Too much greenhouse gas is causing global warming.

What greenhouse gas would not be naturally occurring?

chlorofluorocarbon

Can greenhouse gas kill animals?

Sulfur dioxide is a greenhouse gas, I would not recommend inhaling it. Many greenhouse gases will kill animals, but they are rarely found in concentrations large enough to be problematic.

Why is it called global?

It is called global warming because of greenhouse effect.and greenhouse effect happens when there is too much greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gas is used for trapping some of the sun's heat for the earth's warmth. And when there are too much Greenhouse gas, all of the sun's heat gets trapped inside the earth, causing the earth's temperature to rise. Greenhouse effect is normally caused by human activities such as burning fossil fuels.

Is Greenhouse gas a noun?

Yes, gas is a noun. Greenhouse here is an adjective describing 'gas'. Together they make a noun phrase, 'Greenhouse gas'.

Which gas is known as the third greenhouse gas?

Nitrous Oxide is the third greenhouse gas.........

Is ammonia NH3 a greenhouse gas?

No, Ammonia is not considered a greenhouse gas.

Does nature produce greenhouse gases?

Natural gas is a greenhouse gas, methane, and when it is burnt it releases the other greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide.

What does methane do to the environment?

methane is a greenhouse gas .. it locks the sun's energy in the atmosphere
