You will eat hard, flat, possibly tasty cookies. Baking soda helps the cookies rise. Without it, they stay flat, as does matzoh.
If they didn't have a raising agent (like baking soda) then they would not rise and become very dense and heavy and probably burnt
It might make what you are making a little more dry... I use less butter when I make cookies and they turn out just fine...
Without yeast, dough would not rise or bake properly.
Your cake would not rise. Or your cookies would not spread. Probably a Denser cake, or tougher cookie would be the case in those two instances..
You will have frozen butter
No. Baking a cake involves chemical reactions between the ingredients. The fats in the butter are intended to interact in certain ways with the other ingredients - and this won't happen with apple sauce. This is not to say that the end result would be inedible - it might be - but it won't be a fruit cake.
the baking soda will explod!!!!
Adding baking soda causes bubbling or effervescence.
They would not raise as much.
the peanut butter gets all mushy and it burns.
Not much will happen if you mix baking soda with water. If you mix it with vinegar something will happen. Vinegar is more acidic.
The chocolate chip cookies would be delicious if made with cane sugar.
I have done so once in the past. I made chocolate chip cookies. I did it just to see what would happen and how the cookies would turn out. I followed a regular cookie recipe, however I cut everything in half because this was a test run and I only wanted to make a small batch. I used 1 1/2 cups of Bisquick instead of flour and because Bisquick has a somewhat salty flavor, I eliminated the baking soda and salt from the cookie recipe (Bisquick has a rising agent in it already so the baking soda was not missed). The cookies baked very nicely. They looked like regular cookies. As for the taste, they had a saltier taste. I myself liked the taste, but not as much as a cookie baked with flour. So to answer your question, yes, you can substitute flour for Bisquick, but make sure you don't include baking soda/powder and/or salt. Also, be prepared, your recipe may taste slightly saltier.
