you would have never existed in your present state so you would naturally combust the moment you killed yourself because you changed the fabric of time

The most popular theories are, you would either cease to exist, as the above answer suggests, or you would simply continue in an alternate timeline from the moment you killed your original self.
For instance, if on September 01st 2017 you went back to July 31st 2017. You visited your own house and saw yourself as you were at the end of July & you killed the July version of yourself.
The September version of you would continue into August and beyond BUT [unless you repeated everything exactly as you originally did] it would be a different timeline from the one you remembered. You'd be the only one aware of it being different.

Since you had the good fortune of being in the past during the events, you will not be rewritten along with the rest of the timeline. There isn't a split in timelines, just the rewriting of one. And somewhere along the years that follow, a very lonely time-traveler that shouldn't exist does.
