Japan would be in control of all trade and navigation through out the Pacific Ocean. The Korean War and Vietnam War would never have been fought, because those countries would be part of the Japanese Empire.
The US dropped the Atomic bomb to end the war, to be the first to use an atomic bomb in war, and to save lives (beleive it or not) because according to the US i million lives would have been lost in an invasion of Japan which may have happened if it were not for the bomb being dropped. but yes,it also proved that the US was powerful

Where did you get the idea Japan took the industrial might and strong economy of the US from the Americans? It is more like Japan lost that when the US and the allies strategically bombed Japan. Their economy, agriculture and industries were ruined by the allies.

The US government believed more lives would be lost in an invasion of japan than would bombing two cities. It was a cost/benefit analysis.
Japan was never colonized. It was occupied briefly by the US after WW II.
It lost almost half its territory.
Japan gave up after Germany lost the war.
