No electricity. No petroleum products. Very little edible food. Possible several decades of freezing temperatures. etc. In general not a very nice place.
Nuclear war ! The radiation and fall-out would affect everything on the planet for perhaps hundreds of years !
Not very likely countries as are now getting rid of their nuclear weapons to aviod a nuclear war
China would likely attack us and we would have total nuclear war.
It is unlikely the Janapese would have surrendered in this scenario. The Japanese had a nuclear bomb program of their own that they had adandoned earlier in the war, so were likely as aware of the power of the device as the Americans at that time. A demonstration would have had little effect on their desire or lack of it to continue the war.
Underground bunkers or shelters specifically designed to withstand nuclear blasts and radiation would be the most likely to survive a nuclear war. These structures provide protection from the initial explosion and fallout, increasing the chances of survival for those inside.
It is likely that if nuclear weapons did not exist, the US and the USSR would have gone to war in the 1950's, and the question of the divided city of Berlin would have been resolved by war, rather than building a wall.
It's a pure speculation to predict nuclear war. That said, here are some possibilities, ranked from the current "most likely" to "least likely".India vs PakistanIndia vs ChinaNorth Korea vs US/South KoreaIran vs IsraelNote that a major nuclear exchange between any of the Big 5 (US, Russia, UK, France, China) is exceedingly unlikely at this point. In fact, after India vs Pakistan, by far the most likely scenario is a sub-state actor (e.g. terrorist organization) acquiring a nuclear weapon and detonating it in a nuclear-equipped country. That scenario is very frightening, as it would almost certainly plunge the entire world into massive political chaos. As I noted about, this is merely an educated guess, based on current tensions and possibilities. It's certainly not a prediction.
Could be.But USA or RUSSIA would never start it.it most likely be a terrorist country
A nuclear or biological assault could initialize a nuclear war.
I believe it would very likely become a hot war long ago, probably a conventional WW3. Nuclear weapons scared people a lot, but probably prevented another global war.
Runaway volcanism (not likely).Massive object impact (not likely). The sun swelling to a red giant (most likely).Earth going outside the green zone and too close to the Sun (very likely)."God" or a deity (not likely).Nuclear war would not be likely to cause destruction by fire; there is a miniscule chance of setting the atmosphere alight, but nuclear winter (extreme cooling caused by fallout) is more likely in the event of absolute nuclear war.
Nobody- you cannot win a nuclear war. You may want to watch the film 'Threads' on YouTube for a good simulation of what a Nuclear war would do.
