Sounds like your battery is going schmitz on you. Go to a local auto parts store and have them check for shorted cells. Also have them check for a whacked out alternator at the same time (usually with the same tool). Most reputable auto parts stores (Auto Zone, Kragen, Pep Boys) do this as a courtesy for free.
This pertains to a diesel engine. It's the sweet spot where everything comes together and the engine is performing at its best.
It sounds like your VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor) has gone bad, which will turn on your check engine light.
check for clogged fuel filter, incorrect or improperly gapped spark plugs, or ignition timing
a speedo works off speed of vehicle and comes from transmission. a tacho measures engine revs and reads from engine or computer. neither have anything to do with other unless both are built into same electronic dashboard
Either the gear on the end of the distributor shaft is chewed off or the gear that drives it is . Possibly broken cam.
? The speedometer cable attaches to the transmission, not the engine. Please try again with more info.
for the check engine light go to autozone and they will diagnose your engine for free as for the speedometer you will proobably have to replace the speed sensor
The engine that drives atmospheric circulation is the sun - which provides the energy for the circulation.
There is no point in changing it.
If it's old enough to have a mechanical speedometer, it'll be in the speedometer itself. If it has an electronic speedometer, there is no speedometer gear - to recalibrate the speedometer to match something like, say, changing tire size would require changing the parameters in the engine ECM.
check your speedometer sensor located back left of engine bay on top of the transmission
The vehicle speed sensor is mounted on the transmission, but on 2000 and later models the VSS is combined with the rear axle sensor located on top of the differential. The powertrain control module uses the sensor input signal for several different engine and transmission control functions. The VSS signal also drives the speedometer on the instrument panel.
Nope, bet it was the other way around... Your speedometer stopped working and your check engine light came on. A broken speedometer (don't know what car so I can't pinpoint it) will cause a whole bunch of codes.
try checking the connection between the speedometer and the engine or wheels
the speedometer on my 97 toyota camary stopped working and the check engine light came on why
The speedometer cable hooks up to the engine in a Honda Accord. This is how the vehicle is able to calculate speed.
no the distrubutor drives your oil pump..
