What would make the detector still beep after the battery is changed?

Assuming this is a question about a smoke detector:
1.The sensor can be obscured with dirt and/or dust
2. An insect such as a spider may have be obscuring the sensor. Sometimes you will even find a web inside the detector.
3. The detector may be defective.
4. The battery, even though it has been changed, may provide too low a voltage to the device. Make sure the battery itself is OK.

When this problem came up with my dodge stratus my husband found that a fuse was blown. We changed our battery and it would not start for us either. but as soon as he fixed some wiring and changed the fuse it was fine.

That's a tough one, but I would guess the answer is "when it stops working". That is a true indication that the battery is dead. But don't call a locksmith, because you can still open your door manually with the key... yes, you can, even if the battery key is dead.

Battery light usually means alternator not charging. Most common solutions would be be a bad alternator, bad connection, or loose alternator belt. A replacement alternator can be bad. If it is ok than most likely a poor connection to the alternator.

In this case, heat detectors may be installed as they do not detect smoke...only heat. Although, removing the detector head or disconnecting the detector is illegal and dangerous as it may disconnect the rest of the fire alarms in the hotel and for your electrical safety.
