If the US Constitution had not been ratified, one or more of the former colonies might have continued as separate states, governing themselves. It is doubt ful that any of them could have maintained their independence over a long time period due to their small size.
If it wasn't ratified we would have a government that was out of control. We would have judges acting as legislators. We would have a congress that acts in government's best interest instead of the citizens'. We would have presidents that worry more about keeping their job instead of protecting the citizens. We would have a slow but steading loss of freedoms. We would become more and more dominated and dependent on our elected officials. Basically the same thing that happpened after it was ratified, only faster.
If the Constitution of India was never written the country would have continued to be governed by the Government of India Act of 1935 enacted law during the British rule of India. This law which is considered mother of our present constitution was amendable as and when need arose by the Indian Central Legislature.
It still would have been ratified. Only 9 out of 13 states were needed.
Article 7 of the Constitution
The Constitution would never have been ratified. The Antifederalist opponents believed that it did not protect the rights of the people and states enough, so if it were never to be amended, we wouldn't have the Bill of Rights and thus the ratification of the constitution
only 27 of the 31 amendments proposed have been ratified
26. The 27th Amendment, proposed in 1789, was not ratified completely until 1992, almost 203 years later.
The first ten amendments were presented and ratified with the Constitution. The Constitution would probably not have been ratified without the rights guaranteed to the states and people in these amendments, which are called the Bill of Rights.
It was ratified in November of 1889 and has been amended 91 times.
The US constitution was ratified by the governments of the original 13 colonies. The remaining 37 states of the union implicity ratified the constitution just by applying to join the existing union./nine states
July 1, 1971
33 amendments have been proposed, 27 of those have been ratified and are part of the Constitution.
