You can cover it with sand. After a period of time, baby turtles would start coming out.
The turtle (Bert the Turtle) was selected for the 'Duck and Cover' cartoons because turtles will naturally tuck themselves into the shelter of their shell for protection - it was a natural choice .
I would suggest checking to make sure you have the right type of food for your type of turtle. You can do this by simply googling the type of turtle you have and reading about it on Wikipedia. If you are positive you have the right type of food, then make sure you are feeding it the right proportions at the right times. Your turtle could be sick so i would strongly recommend seeing your local veterinarian.
Well, did you know that turtles grow according to the size of their environment?? If you keep your turtle in a small environment, it will never grow ( no matter how old it gets ). So I would suggest giving your turtle a bigger environment, wait , see if it grows. If it doesnt, you should go see a vet. But most likely, the turtle is not growing because of the space it is in.

Obviously treat the wound and find out if that little monster has rabbis. if it bites its proberly just looking for food it doesnt mean anything by it. or...it is not defending itself because that adaptatation would be for the turtle to go into its shell in dangerous situation or threating ones.
If the turtle was mutaded then it would have two heads
