I have a drem that one day black and white people will hold hands together and get along if Martin Luther king was not here we will not get the same amount of education or equal as them also we will be way at the back of the classroom geting squish not having something to seat on in taking a test on our laps we will not be drinking from the same water fountain neither using the same bathroom also we can not go on their nieghborhood or play with the white kids this is how the world will be like if martin luther king jr was not here. I would disagree..... It is thought that iconic social movements, driven by an individual, are an inevitable result of an existing widening of tolerance toward a particular social opinion. Therefor the likelihood of society as we know it being altered due to the absence of the individual is minimal. In this case, a different activist/politition/spokesperson would have inevitably replaced, Martin Luther King, in the history books therefor the only notable change would be the name Martin Luther King....

Someone else would have become the key spokesperson for the American civil rights rights movement. But he or she probably would not have had Dr. King's eloquence and keen understanding of Biblical and historical trends.

Martin Luther King Jr. was the most credible member of the Civil Rights Movement. His action gave hope and perseverance to blacks to gain their rights. He gave a direction to them that they can do something about these intense injustices known as segregation. His actions led to various protests, revolts, and public standings. As a result, If he did not exist we may still be struggling with public segregation (black and whites) if he had not exist in our history of the USA. He was a great man with a great vision aside him

This is a very hard question to answer. Alternate realities are almost like time travel questions there could be so many different outcomes. A few possibilities:

Martin Luther King could have gone on to live a full life full of great works. He very well could have progressed the country to a point that racial tensions would have all but vanished. He could have gone on to stay a well respected icon, and to pass the torch on to other young leaders across the country.

Martin Luther King's assignation made him a martyr (in the true sense of the word), and there is a certain amount of power in that. It is possible that if he hadn't died, his movement could have started to lose steam. He may not have made the impact that he did in a full life that he did in his death. Many great men slowly fade into the background after a time.

If he lived longer, he could have done something to lose the general public's respect. Everyone messes up sometimes, and depending on how the media handles it, the mistake could be a game changer. It could turn everyone against the person quickly.

He could have become bitter at things that went wrong and changed his viewpoints. He could have actually caused damage to race relations.

All and all, I tend to like the first option the best. I would like to think he kept on being a great man, and that his dreams of equality and understanding came true.
