There's usually no limitation for the commission of a crime. the reasson for this is that a crime is considered to be a wrong done to the community. If the charges are dropped withhout a trial, they may still be re-instituted if it is by the state. this is a general legal principle. I doubt if it is any different in the State of Missouri
