People arleady knew how to navigate using stars (for instance before the compass was invented). And anyone seriously working with magnets would've stumbled across one that could be used as a compass eventually.
If compass was not invented we would get lost and cant find ourselves. That's way in TV you see people using compass in the desert.

It would be a very sad and depressing place, colours make the world wonderful. A peach and an apple would be almost identical if there is no colour . The world would be just a boring place to live without colour so be grateful that the world is full with colours.

The compass effected exploration because without it, exploration would not have been possible to the early peoples. The compass was invented in China, and some of the earliest explorers were in Egypt. :)

It depends on where the compass is in the world. Asia is a big continent, and compass points and bearings would vary greatly. For instance, the initial bearing on a course from Beijing to London is 324.43° and the compass direction is NW. From Cape Horn of South America it would be entirely different.
