What kind of acid would be produced by mixing hot water sugar and bleach?

None. This solution would not produce an acid.

Is it acid into base or base into acid?

The answer might depend on what kind of solution you are talking about. If you start with water and add acid, you get a dilute solution of acid, then a more concentrated solution as you add more. If you started pouring water into acid, you would initially get a very concentrated solution, then diluter as you add more water. If you are in the lab with a beaker of acid and a beaker of water and need to mix them, always pour the acid into the the water, not the other way around. The mixing generates heat. There is a slight chance that the beaker could break or get knocked over just after you start mixing. Spilling hot acid with a little bit of water is far more dangerous than spilling hot water with a little bit of acid.

How do you convert benzaldehyde into phenyl acetic acid?

1.First add CH3-MgCl(Grinard). 2.Then and dilute acid or water. 3.Then add Concentrated H2SO4 and heat above 170 degrees celcius. 4.Then add HBr or HCl or HI. 5.Then add dilute KOH or NaOH. 6.Then add Hot concentrated KMNO4.

Can sulfuric acid be used to lower pH in a hot tub?

While it would lower the pH, sulphuric acid is a strongly oxidizing acid too that will burn organic materials (flesh) and is thus not safe for use in pools and hot tubs. Use only hydrochloric acid (sold as muriatic acid in stores) for the purpose of reducing pH in a pool or hot tub.

What is cold Hydrochloric acid?

I'm not quite sure if you've formulated your question correctly. Hydrochloric acid, HCl(aq), is what it is, whether cold or hot. When you dilute concentrated HCl the dilution reaction releases a lot of heat (more of it the more conc. the HCl is to begin with). Depending on how much you are diluting may cause the reaction vessel to feel warm (or even hot) to the touch. When you dilute concentrated HCl you should determine how much water it will take and then add the HCl slowly to most of the water required. The water has a high specific heat and can absorb the heat being generated (but you still add the acid slowly). You don't add the water to the conc. HCl. The heat generated can be enough to pretty much instantaneously boil the water and it can splatter in your face (carrying some of the acid with it) causing a severe burn.

Can you use food acid to pickle food?

Food acid is a very generic term. Some foods have so much acid (tomatoes) that you need to only add 3-4 Tablespoons to each pint of tomatoes to process them in a hot water bath canner.

How is diluting an iced tea is different from diluting an acid?

When you dilute tea, it doesn't matter whether you add tea to water or water to tea. When you dilute acid, you should alwyas add acid to water, not the other way around. This is because water and acid will temporarily heat up; and it is dangerous to have a hot solution of strong acid mix (all the original acid plus the first drops of water to go in).

How could acid clouds affect temperatures?

acid can burn through things, its probably hot ^acids do not burn things through heat Assuming that the reaction is spontaneous (happens by itself), it would give off heat, though probably not much. On a large scale, I would bet that an acid cloud would have the same effect as a normal cloud on temperature.
