Just use a crescent for the pan & the oil filter wrench is adjustable if to tight to spin by hand. A belt or other strap will work too to break it loose.

yes its the same exact motor.. B18B(enter USDM number here) its mostly plug and play... seeing that its comming from a OBD2B car to a OBD1 car... you will need to change injectors, distributor, and alternator... unless you have the engine wire harness out of the 97 then it will be plug and play.

The thermosat is located off the directley at the end of the lower radiator hose where it meets behind the block... U will need a 10mm wrench easy install... it will take about 5 minutes....
it may need a new bulb
Most likely it's your valves in need of adjustment.
