If you are referring the the Spanish Explorers who were from New Mexico, which were Father Excalante and Dominguez, the year they came through Utah would be 1776. They came from Santa Fe, New Mexico in search for an overland route to Monterey, California. They were the first Europeans to map Utah. Because of the harsh Winter during their expedition they had to turn back. They left many historians with multiple records and several maps from their journey.
