In many part of the world horses are still used as they have been for thousands of years. Automobiles are not practical for many people, espcially those living in very rural areas where roads, gas stations, and mechanics are nonexistant. On modern American ranches there are still jobs that only a horse and rider can do, such as cutting and herding cattle.
