What year did the Tudor period begin and end?
The Tudor Dynasty and its era defined the British Renaissance and lasted from the succession of Henry VII in 1485 and the end of the Wars of the Roses until the death of Queen Elizabeth I in 1603, when the Stuarts came to power.
The last of the Tudors - Queen Elizabeth I - died in 1603. She was succeeded by the House of Stuart's King James. As he had been the sixth Scottish king called James, but the first English king fo that name, he was known as King James VI and I. Since he was a Stuart, not a Tudor, the Tudor period ended and the Stuart period began.
