the 09 dodge has an okay engine don't get the 10-11 years because the older dodges have the 5.9 liter the new dodges have the 6.7 liter and they don't last as long as the 5.9.
the cummins. Hands down. if you said any dodge older than a 2005, I'd go with the duramax, but the trannies in the 05 and up dodges are much better, and you cant beat a cummins for power and reliability.

The 6.7L inline six is a 24 valve engine. It will be in the 2013 Ram heavy duty trucks.
1989 was the first year of the Cummins.
They never owned Cummins in the first place.
The front suspension will not hold the weight of the Cummins.

dodge/ram has used two v8 engines in its trucks since 2004, the 4.7 and the 5.7 hemi... before '04 it was the 5.9v8 (360 cubic inch)... the diesel engines in dodge trucks are built by Cummins, and are all inline six (I6), none of the diesel dodges have v8 inches. therefore there was never a 'magnum v8 cummins' since there was never a v8 cummins, hope that helps!
