VW Golf gti ...1986 1.8 engine, k-jet not digifant. Also its the hydro lifter not solid :)
There should be a label on the engine shroud or on the cylinder head with the serial number and model number on it. The label is usually on the front side.
the engine serial number is on the back of the block, behind the passenger side cylinder head. Not easy to access.
Serial Number: There is a serial number located on the timing belt cover, and also another one stamped just below the head on the intake side. Engine Size: Located on the emissions sticker under the hood.
On 1983-95 models, the engine serial number is located on the lower left hand side of the crankcase above the oil drain plug. The frame serial number is stamped on the right hand side of the steering head. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is on the left hand of the steering head.
On the left side of block at rear just below the head. Number will be 8-digits
We need to know the year and engine size, the 8th digit (from the front) of your serial number is the engine code. The 8th diget on my car is: 1
Hi, they are on the rear deck behind the head, left side, on a 6V 53 right under the dipstick tube
The number is stamped on the back of the engine behind the driver side head on a flat deck were the transmission bolts up to the engine. You can see the "casting number" with an inspection mirror. On some later model engines the last 3 numbers are stamped between the freeze plugs on the side of the engine.
Engine serial number located passenger side, rear where cylinder head and engine block meet on large flat area. Very difficult to get to with engine in car. usually 6 numbers with one single letter followed by VQ35 in the case of the 3.5 litre V-6 engine.
Serial number, and or engine or vehicle code are stamped on the cylinder deck on the right front of the block immediately in front of the right cylinder head. Casting numbers and date codes are on the right rear of the block just in front of the bell housing mounting surface.
I'll take a long shot guess at this, but that appears to be the head casting number. Mine started with 970. My engine was the 2.0Liter 122cid 1900cc DOHC 4 cylinder engine, and i think its a Mitsubishi motor, if I'm not mistaken.
On the left front in front of the head.
