Not sure of the year they started it but you wont find a dipstick for the trans. VDubs have a sealed trans. So if your having problems with the trans like its low on fluid your going to have to have it rebuilt or replaced. Happened to my moms 99 Beatle and cost her 3k to have it replaced.
