all mercury outboards mix 50:1
50:1
The dry weight of an 1990 model, 115 Mercury outboard is 326 lbs.
A 115hp Mercury outboard boat motor has a fuel to oil ratio of 50 to 1. This translates to 16 ounces of 2-cycle oil to every 6 gallons of fuel.
I am not certain of the exact model(s) involved, but there was a recall issued for oil pump replacement on the earlier 4 stroke model. Check with a Mercury Marine dealer to see if applicable to your engine, also through looking up your engine serial number, it can be determined if your engine has already been repaired through any recall campaigns.
Not sure of 1970, but I have a 1983 and it weighs 365 lbs. That's probably pretty close
That serial # dates to Feb.-Mar. 1936. Only 250 was made during that year. A good core will bring between 10-15K. If it runs you could be looking at up to 30k. A very rare engine.
it could of been a short in the wiring in the engine compartment or you had a fuel leak and it got into wires or the ignition system
The 1979 - 1980 model, 115 hp Mercury outboard, requires a 50:1 ratio. One pint of 2 cycle oil, to six gallons of fuel.
