The United States did not exist prior to 1776 so it is unlikely that they participated in any wars prior to then unless you are referring to British colonists. There were many wars fought between this time, especially in Europe. The Thirty Years War, the War of the Austrian Succession, and the Napoleonic War were fought during that period, as were the Austro-Prussian War and many other wars.
Bowling is the most participated sport in the US, followed by soccer and baseball.
