'Bullet Train' is not the proper name for these trains.It is a named invented by the English language media for the Japanese 'Shinkansen' high speed trains when they were first introduced. The probably invented the name because they thought 'Shinkansen' was too complicated a word for their readers.Other countries have since built High Speed Lines and High Speed Trains, and the speeds have increased.
