When a 96 Geo Metro has a problem of not accelerating over 15 mph is the problem with the transmission or the catalytic converter?

Lack of power can be caused by many problems. If the motor is revving up but it won't shift, it may be the transmission. If it won't rev, it may be the convertor. It may also be a plugged fuel filter, air filter, bad plugs or wires or even a bad injector. Check the filters and maybe a tune up before going further. Also check all the fuses.

Yup i had the same problem 2 times now.The engine light came on and someting was wrong.
