I would start it if possible not?then at-least your not dealing with a dead battery when it comes time to take it out of storage.

Synthetic oils have a higher operating temperature the engine will not last if a non synthetic or conventional oil is used because of the high heat especially in the air cooled Porsche engines. Many older Porsche owners say to use a synthetic blend so that the conventional portion of the oil is thought to help keep leaks to a minimum. Mobil1 is my first choice. DO NOT use a cheap domestic oil. Your cars manual should tell you the recommended oils.
