Law of the Conservation of Mass
Burning is a chemical reaction with oxygen (oxidation).
Oxygen was the substance produced by the mint plant. Joseph Priestley enclosed a mint plant in a container, along with a burning candle. After the flame consumed all the oxygen, it went out. Despite the fact that the mint plant was in a closed container, after another 27 days had passed, Priestley was able to reignite the candle. This proved that plants produce oxygen, which is a gas that allows fuels to burn.
Remember the percentage of oxygen in the world today is 21%. Get a lit candle and put it on water. Then put a beaker over the lit candle. The water should rise and fill up to 21% of the candle as there is 21% of oxygen in the world.
When a candle burns the wax is reacting with oxygen in the air to give out heat and light. If you give the candle more oxygen then it will burn brighter ... but it will burn out more quickly. The burning of the candle (a chemical reaction) is affected by the number of oxygen molecules around it.So the speed of the chemical reaction is affected by the concentration of oxygen
The heat from a candle is stored in the chemical bonds of the oxygen and the candle wax. When you use a match to light the candle, you are activating the chemical reaction between the oxygen and the wax, which releases the energy stored in the bonds of the wax and oxygen. The products of the reaction, carbon dixode and water, require less energy for their bonds. So, all the extra energy that was stored in the wax and the oxygen is released to the air around the candle (the extra air that's not being used to react with the wax). Remember, if you put a jar over a candle, it will go out because it runs out of oxygen to react with.
oxygen
If a candle has no oxygen, its flame goes out.

Candle burns oxygen. Plant produces oxygen from Carbon Dioxide. plant produces oxygen, which is burned by candle. Candle lasts longer because more oxygen is present
YES. The available amount of oxygen in air regulates the candles burn. The oxygen burns with the paraffin wax. Both are consumed. A mix of more oxygen will burn faster and hotter. Rapid oxydation is dangerous.

The candle burning in the open will burn longer, because it has easy access to oxygen to sustain the reaction. The flame of the candle burning under the jar will go out quickly, since it will use up its available oxygen faster than the oxygen can be replenished. Even if the jar is open at the bottom, the heat, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide produced by the flame will prevent sufficient oxygen from getting to the flame to feed it.
when a candle burns, the wax is reacting with oxygen in the air to give out heat and light. If you give the candle more oxygen then it will burn brighter, but it will burn out more quickly. It all depends whether the candle has a high or low concentration of oxygen. The main reason why the candle burns brighter is because there is a better chance that the oxygen will bump into the wax on the wick. when a candle burns, the wax is reacting with oxygen in the air to give out heat and light. a candle: religts in oxygen is very flammable light in candle can be blue

The Smaller the jar the less oxygen, the bigger the jar the more oxygen, and since the candle lives of oxygen the biggest jar with the candle in it will take the longest to burn.
