The same as every. The child is still a child with little choices.
Yes.Yes.Yes.Yes.
In the US, no, they cannot. Until the child turns 18, if the non-custodial parent has court-ordered visitation, it must be followed. If there's a valid reason the child does not want to visit the non-custodial parent, then the custodial parent can go to court and request that the visitation order be modified. But be aware that the court will not do that without a very valid reason.
The custodial parent who has had the burden of bringing up the child without the support you were meant to pay will get the funds. However if the sate has been subsidizing your child and the custodial parent when this would not have been necessary if you had payed the support you should have been paying, then the sate (taxpayer) will get the payments it is owed first.
If there is a court order for visitation it has to be followed until the child turns 18. If there is a legitimate reason the child does not want to visit (ie the parent is a drug user, is abusive, etc), then the custodial parent needs to go back to court and request that the visitation order be modified.
A parent is no longer responsible for a child in the US when a child turns 18. Of course, a parent can also have rights terminated or turn the child over to a guardian.
No. Child support that was ordered must still be paid until the 17 year old turns 18.
Helping the child, well i should say adult, make the right choices and find the right path. The parent should help them less then they did when they were younger.
After the child is aged 13 or so, if circumstances are similar and the parents agree, the child gets to choose. However, an 18 year old is really legally an adult.
Until a child turns the legal age of eighteen, the parent retains full custody and rights unless otherwise mandated by the courts.
Child support arrears do not go away. The custodial parent can continue to pursue arrears until they are paid off.
