Expectant mother mice will want to have an enclosed shelter, such as a small cardboard box, like an empty cookie box. An empty carboard box the size of an Arm & Hammer baking soda box is an ideal size. They also need insulating material, such as torn paper from your paper shredder, or even newspaper, which mice will tear to size. You can also buy wood shavings. Mice like to hide in these insulating materials, and it keeps their babies warm and hidden away from potential danger. You must also supply a water bottle that is especially made for small rodents, and food such as small rodent mix. Do not disturb the mother mouse when she is giving birth, and a few weeks after she gives birth. Some mother mice will eat their young if she is frightened by human contact. She might also kill and eat her young if she doesn't have a steady supply of food and water. Keep the mouse cage away from direct sunlight, and from cold drafts. Make sure other pets such as cats or dogs cannot get to the mouse cage and disturb it.
the sign of a mouse about to give birth is it isn't moving to much. another way to tell is if it has extreme weight gain. or there could be bleeding in the cage. make sure you put a lot of bedding where mom sleeps. another sign is if she's burrowing deep in the bedding. don't bother the cage in till one day after birth.
A mouse will show signs of pregnancy at 15 days and give birth in about 18-24 days.
To get a female pregnant, you need to have a male mouse to impregnate her. After that, it's 21 days until she'll give birth, in which case she should be left alone for 3 days afterwards before touching babies.
well that all depends on if the moms get along. if they don't then you should put the in a different cage but you should still be careful if the moms do get along because they can get very protective
Yes
Make sure the cage is clean. Also, provide a small hide away in the cage to give birth. If your rabbit lives in a hutch, you won't need this hide away. Most importantly, cover the cage with a blanket when the doe is giving birth.
=you know when to clean to clean your mouse cage when it begins to stink you should give it a good clean wash ever month every two weeks just change the wood chippings or what you use give it fresh food and water everyday=
