Known as the "jelly bean" dog because they come in such a wide array of colors, the Lhasa Apso is a small, long-coated breed from Tibet. Generally 9 to 10.75" inches at the shoulder and weighing 12-16 pounds, they are a sturdy little mountain dog. Originally bred by monks and nobility, they make excellent sentinel dogs. Not a yappy breed, they will bark a warning/alert and then settle down.
Photos of Lhasas can be readily found by Googling images of Lhasa Apsos.
lots of love!!!!

the Lhasa apso
If the hair of a Lhasa is not long by 6 months, "but probably sooner" than you may want to double check that it is a full breed lhasa Apso and not a mix of another breed, for this may be true.
I think he's like a Lhasa Apso maybe a mixed brand but it's def some lhasa apso in him!
Tibet
Lhaso Apsos can be bought from pet stores like Petsmart and PJ's Pets, breeders, animal shelters, Kijiji, Craigslist and local newspaper classified ads.
Lhasa Apsos have long, fast growing hair, "that can be trimmed". They are fairly small. They grow to be around 15 pounds if fed properly. They are usually brown and white or black and white as puppies but as they get older become mostly white. For a clearer picture I suggest entering lhasa apso in Google Image.
VERY long. It's kinda like a big lhasa apso.
A Lhasa Apso and Poodle mix is most commonly called a Lhasa-Poo, which can also be spelt as Lhasapoo. Please note that the Lhasa-Poo is not a pedigree dog breed, but a designer dog, which is a crossbreed that is given a "breed" name just like a pedigree dog breed. Like all designer dogs, the Lhasa-Poo is not recognized by any reputable kennel clubs, such as the American Kennel Club (AKC), the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) and the Kennel Club (KC).
Yes, Lhasa Apso's do have wet noses, like all dogs do. There noses are wet because they lick them to keep them healthy. If there nose is dry, they are probably sick.
Lhasa Apso puppies are just like any other puppy, give it plenty of water, food and shelter. Puppies should be fed three or four times a day from 6 to 8 weeks of age. After 8 weeks, feed it twice a day. Continue to feed it twice a day until a year old when you can begin feeding one big meal a day if you like. Fresh, clean water should always be available to your puppy. Make sure he gets his vaccinations annually (consult a vet for this) and if he is not Kennel Club registered or for breeding, save up to spay/neuter him at a year old. Lhasa Apso's require lots of grooming to keep their coats in shape, a daily brush should be sufficient. Walking on a lead can be begun after the puppy has had his injections - until then, keep him indoors. Good luck!
Yes the colour always fades as the dog get older. For example a caramel puppy will be almost chocolate brown at birth, a tan colour by 6 months old and by the age of 2 years, will have faded to look like a milky latte colour.I have a black and tan lhasa and she is now 3 she is a silvery colour where the black was and creamy white where the tan was as a puppy she looked like a rotweiler pup
shih apso puppies eat almost anything but the dog food Purina I'm a fan but the pup is not and sometimes if they don't like a food they'll vomit.:)
