Would having a hysterecomy cure endometriosis?

Hysterectomy or removal of the uterus does not cure the condition. As the cells from endometrium may be present in the abdominal cavity. They will continue to create problem with the hormonal changes of the ovaries.

After having a full hysterectom how common is it for endometriosis to return?

It happens often, so hysterectomy cannot be considered a cure for endo. Delaying the start of any hormone replacement therapy is a good idea in order to "starve" whatever endo is left. Response to any endo surgery or therapy seems to be very individualized. You will find good information from the Endometriosis Association at EndometriosisAssn.org and in Mary Lou Ballweg's book, Endometriosis: The Complete Reference for Taking Charge of Your Health.Good luck!

Can birth control hide the symptoms of endometriosis?

Yes It can hide the signs. I know a few people that have endometriosis and they went on the pill so that they could stop some of the symptoms. A Personal response Well I was put on 'the pill' to help control my endometriosis. It provided a regular cycle and reduced the pain and illness I had every month. So in that sense, I guess yes it would hide the symptoms. So you should find the TCM therapy - fuyan pill to cure it thoroughly, and this pill is herbal, it can't bring any damage to your body. A laprocopy is what determined/diagnosed me as it shows all the scar tissue caused by endometriosis.

What does cure means?

cure means,where are we going.

Is endometriosis fatal?

My understanding is that endo is not fatal in and of itself. However, untreated endo can interfere with some operations of the body, for example bowel function, that could cause serious complications. Women with endo are at greater risk for some types of cancer. Most importantly, girls and women have committed suicide because of relentless endo pain. The Endometriosis Association is working to find a cure. Please support them at EndometriosisAssn.org. Consult the book Endometriosis: The Complete Reference for Taking Charge of Your Health by Mary Lou Ballweg for further information.
