US Answer only: If you have a warrant for your arrest, the police will look for you. They will watch your home, they will be looking for your car, they will watch the school where you kids go, they will watch your neighborhood. Eventually, they will find you, hook you and, like, totally ruin your day. Solution: Take care of business on your own terms by going down to your local police station and just turn your self in!

The issuance of an Arrest Warrant does not necessarily lead to an arrest, regardless of where it is issued or the agency responsible. Therefore, the amount of time between the issuance of an Arrest Warrant and an actual arrest is between minutes and never. Also note that if an arrest is planned, it may occur at "your door," or at any other location.

Depends on what Crime , what place and how much evidents.

But in Croatia it happens very rare.

I dont know how much in USA but it should be about 1 week to 2 months

_______________

As with much police work, after a week with no leads, you end up on the back burner as new "crimes" are addressed and new priorities set. That doesn't mean you are off the hook though. You are 'in the system.' The police may not actively be looking for you, but all you need to do is get stopped for speeding or other violation. You will be checked for wants and warrants - and YOU"RE CAUGHT!

There is no specified timeframe. An arrest warrant will be issued when the 'probable cause' is sufficient to present to a judge.

Whats the main differences between arrest with and without a warrant?

Without a warrant you must find reasonable grounds to arrest someone, whereas with a warrant your reason to arrest the suspect already exists. Without a warrant a Police Officer can arrest anyone without permission of a Magistrate as long as they follow the correct procedures so their arrest is lawful, which is unlike an arrest with a warrant where you must be granted the warrant to be able to arrest that person. Without a warrant, a Police Officer can mess the arrest up and make it an unlawful arrest but with a warrant it is very unlikely that they make it an unlawful arrest.

A search warrant for my apt was served i was not home pot was found and seized .it has been 2 weeks. the search warrant had my name on it and no arrest warrant is out for me is this normal?

Consult w/a criminal attorney ASAP. . Added: A police investigation can take... as long as it takes. They may be deveolping leads or looking into other matters associated with this case. I'm surprised your attorney can't (or won't) tell you this.

Yes, as long as they carry their warrant card. A citizen can arrest you if they witness you commit a crime. Police can do it if they suspect you have or are about to, whether they are on duty or not.
