Henry II and Thomas Becket fell out. (IDK what that means, but it was on a historical paper...)
Thomas Becket fell out with Henry II because Henry chose Thomas to be arch bishop because he wanted the church on his side. But it all went wrong for him. Thomas went to the church's side and forgot all about Henry. that made Henry angry.

When Henry became king he appointed Thomas Becket as his chancellor. Becket's job was an important one as it involved the distribution of royal charters, writs and letters. The king and Becket soon became close friends.
Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Becket, was murdered on the 29th December, 1170. Henry II had supposedly lost his temper and yelled something along the lines of "who will rid me of this troublesome priest" (the exact words were lost in history). Four knights overheard this and 'misunderstood', so, they then went to Canterbury Cathedral and killed him. It was on the 3rd blow from the sword that he fell, and on the 4th they lopped of his head and his 'brains spilled out' (nasty stuff, isn't it?) according to Edward Grim, best friend and clerk. Grim also got hurt in the attack, when one of the knights hit Becket the second time, it missed and hit Grim in the shoulder. As far as I know (I've done a bit of research) not a lot is known about the funeral. Hope this helps!
Thomas Becket was making his way slowly towards the High Altar, or perhaps towards St Augustine's Chair in which he had been consecrated Archbishop some 8 years earlier. The Archbishop knew he was being followed by his attackers and he knew he was about to be killed. He calmly reached the transept containing the altar of St Benedict where the knights and the clergyman with them attempted to drag him from the cathedral, but he simply said: "I will not leave; here shall you work your will and obey your orders." The knights then struck him several times with their swords (some accounts say there were four strokes to his head) and he fell first to his knees and then onto his face, his hands stretched out and joined as if praying. In this position he died, the top of his skull cut off.

Henry did not kill Thomas Beckett, it was four knights. Henry II shouted out in rage "Will no-one rid me of this meddlesome priest" the knights heard him and decided to take matters into their own hands. Henry had a reputation for his anger and did not mean for the knights to go and kill him.
