Your bitch should not come into heat for about 4 months. As long as she had no problems having the current litter and is in good health/condition there should be no reason you could not breed her again.
There are several trains of thought on this subject.
1. Uterus is a muscle and it is better to use it, so breed every heat and then retire your bitch early after 4-5 litters.
2. Breed for two heats and rest one heat. This routine can be continued until 4-5 litters have been born.
3. Breed only once a year or every other heat cycle. This allows the bitch's body to recuperate.
You need to talk with your vet and see what they suggest since you will have to work closely with them for a happy healthy bitch and litter.
If your dog requires a c-section you should give her a year off to heal from the surgery before trying to carry a litter. Also if the litter has pulled your bitch's weight way down you need to make sure she is in top shape before breeding her again.
A female dog should not be bred before her second heat cycle, and only if she is healthy and without any genetic conditions which could be passed down to her puppies.
A female dog should only be bred once a year, and only until the dog is 6 or 7 years old MAXIMUM. The older the breeding dog, the more important it is to have a vet examine her before breeding.
a year would be best....yet my dog had a liter after 9mos...but it isnt smart too...
A female dog must at least 1 years old to breed.
No. The effect on the female of bearing a litter is the same, regardless of the breeding of the puppies. A pure breed means that the mother and father of THAT dog must be the same kind and size (minature, regular size).
A group of puppies is called a litter. The size of a litter can vary drastically based on the breed and if it is the dogs first litter.
When a female is in heat she will accept more than one male to breed with. If there are enough eggs, the sperm from more than one male can fertilize different eggs the female has.
My daughter brought home a dog from that region and by its markings, size and body configuration we believe it to be a banjara. She is definitely a sighthound, very fast and a very loyal, protective animal. She recently had a litter of four female pups from mating with a black lab.
yes
A sire is a male dog who is the father of a litter of puppies.
A male dog (any breed) is a DOG. A female dog (any breed) is a bitch.
Get her fixed!
i do not see why not since it would still be somewhat purebred with 2dog mixes in it,as long as the female dog is healthy enough to have a litter, but when breeding a dog best advice i can give is make sure the female is at least 2 years of age and do not breed her more then once a year.
It usually doesn't happen but its possible if the female is laying down.
ANY dog can be bred with ANY other dog, no matter the breed. If the female dog is the French bulldog, you can most likely expect the puppies to have to be delivered by cesarean. This is not inexpensive, and it wouldn't be optional. The very lives of the puppies and the mother dog would depend on it. If either dog is a purebred, another thing to consider is would be why breed to create a litter of mongrel puppies?
