Well this depends on the state your in. Most states say 48 hrs others say within 24. However if the child is 17 or older you can not file a runaway on them but only a missing person which means if the police locate them they only are required by law to deem them no longer missing. Now know most states when a parent or guardian file runaway, if found the child will be placed in rydc and will have to report to court and if the gudge see's fit then placed back in your custody. However if this is an ongoing behavioral problem u might want to take the opprotunity to file an unruly child petetion at the time of court put a scare in them for a little while then let them come home. Believe me I work for the state of ga dfcs and sometimes that's all they need.well I wish you and yours luck and hope your child returns home to you safely. God bless
as soon as the act occurs you can call the police to report the missing individual
You could call the police and or go to ionia county and search for her/him.
Well, they can but they would be lying. The parent is kicking them out of the house, the child is not running away; sooner or later the police (if the parent did call the child in as a runaway) would probably figure out the child did not runaway and the child was kicked out. If the parents kicked them out, then why would they call the child in as a missing if they didn't want them?
Local laws change all the time, its best to contact the local police and ask them. Most have a non emergency phone number you can call.
The police cannot force a 17 year old runaway in Texas to go back home. Anyone, except for family members, with whom the 17 year old moves in with, can be charged with harboring a runaway.
Go home or call the police so they can take you home. Anyone who helps you knowing you are a runaway can get charged with aiding a runaway. If you are abused tell the police and the CPS can help you.
Call the police and report them as a runaway.
In the state of Minnesota, a child is considered to be a runaway if they are under age 18 and do not have their parents or guardians permission to leave the home. The parents can call the police and the police may issue the runaway a citation to appear in court.
Bring you home.

Technically, you cannot be charged with harboring a runaway if the person has not been classifed as a runaway. However, if the person is found in your possession and they have no reason to be with you, then the police have every reason to question you.
