It will first advise that it will analyze (in which case nobody should touch the patient). Next, it will advise if a shock is or isn't required.

More properly an execution device- it held the body of the victim upright until he or she succumbed- the living body was set on fire- in the case of Joan of Arc she was in a white hooded dress ( not her armor) and was bound diagonally to the stake. Like the Guillotine, this is more properly an execution device and not a torture implement.
An AED (automated external defibrillator) is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm. In use it tells you how to use it properly and advises you when to stand back.

When beginning mouth to mouth respiration, you should start by assessing the victim with the ABC's (Airway-tilting the victim's head back to ensure open airway, Breathing-make sure that the victim's chest is going up and down that means the victim is breathing, Circulation- check the victim's pulse) If the victim is not breathing, skip checking the pulse and start CPR. First, give the victim two breaths. Breath in and out when giving the breaths just as you would when you breath regularly. Then, start giving the victim CPR pumps or whatever you call it when you pump the victim's chest. This is all I can tell you- I am a lifeguard and if you want to know all about CPR you need to be properly taught. :)

Once the charges have been placed only the prosecutor's office has the authority to 'drop' them. The complainant/victim may advise the prosecutor's office that they are reluctant to pursue the matter, but the decision is no longer their's to make, it is up to the prosecutor.
