And just why are you doing this, hmmmm?
Fan not working properly and/or the car is overheating and
you're trying to find out if the fan is dead or not?
It sparks for one of two reasons. 1) it's just sparking because
when you touch the wire to the battery terminal, you aren't getting a
real tight connection. This isn't serious. Or 2) because you are touching
the wire to the wrong battery terminal and producing a short to the chassis
ground. This is a bad thing!
Does the fan ever spin? Is the car overheating?
I think we need more information to help you properly ~

Something is on pulling power from the battery at the moment you hook it up. Or you are connecting it up backwards if you see allot of sparks.
A person can hook up a cooling fan to a battery by connecting the hot or positive lead to the positive side of the battery. The negative lead wire is then connected to the negative side of the battery.
that's normal Make sure you are connecting pos to pos, neg to neg.
You will not get electricuted by a car battery. It has only 12 volts and that will not cause you any harm. The sparks that come from connecting the battery or connnecting jumper cables are just electrical current being transferred.
Then something is turned on and drawing current.
"Sparking" When Connecting a BatteryWhen sparks occur on connecting a battery [IF the cables are connected to the proper terminals and in the proper order] is an indication that some of the electricity using devices [clock, computers, etc.] in the vehicle's electrical system are drawing electrical current.IF the battery cables are being connected properly, this sparking is normal, causes no damage, and is nothing to be concerned about.
Yes, it can ruin a battery and it can explode.
what is "pandorizing"?
because of electric sparks
By connecting a bulb to the battery.
you can see that the battery needs battery so that's why
By running the engine on the vehicle or by connecting the battery to a 12 volt battery charger.
