When dialing an international tollfree number do you need to dial the country code?

Most toll-free numbers are only intended for use within a single country, or in the case of North America (USA, Canada, and certain Caribbean or nearby islands), for use within the North American zone. If you are trying to reach a toll-free number in a different country, you can try dialing it as if it were an ordinary geographic number in that country; for example, you might dial +1 844 555 0123 for a North American toll-free number. If the call goes through, you will most likely pay normal international call rates. If the call fails, you can try using a "Home Country Direct" service (which may have a significant surcharge on top of normal international call rates), try a VoIP service such as Skype, or look on the internet to find a regular geographic number for the company you are trying to reach.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.).
