In April of 1493, Columbus went to the Alcazar. This was the royal palace of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. He made a report of his voyage and presented the monarchs with treasures from his expedition.
Columbus tried to convey the Americas as an exotic, interesting place. He wanted to report back favorably to the Spanish who funded his journey, and entice the Spanish to come to America and colonize or explore.
Cristobal Colon is the Spanish name for the person we refer to in English as Christopher Columbus. As to what he is famous for, well, in loose terms he 'discovered' America although I think it is pretty well agreed that he was hardly the first from Europe to land there and make a contribution. I think his accomplishment was to cross the Atlantic and report back to a wider audience than previous travellers had done.
Historians report he was the son of a wool comber and was suppose to be in the same trade, but at 14 he went to sea. As early as 1474 he thought of sailing west to get to India. Today, there some historians who believe that he was actually from a wealthy Spanish family who were political rivals of the king and queen. They think this because he wrote in Spanish, was married to a wealthy Spanish woman ( a poor man wouldn't have been able to make this match/marriage), and that he was educated. Very few were educated in his time unless they were wealthy. He may have taken the persona of "Columbus" so he could gain favor from the king and queen for his idea/adventure to find India with a sea route. (This actually makes sense to me when you add up the facts we know about him.)
People in the 1400's didn't have high school. It didn't exist until 400 years later, so he didn't go to high school. He began as a ship's boy and went the school of Navigation by Prince Henry of Portugal.
Yes. He thought the Earth was flat, but in 1964 astronauts realised that Earth was round Yes. The astronauts did report and see that the Earth was round and that there was more than one ocean.
1495 -- Columbus encounters a hurricane near HispaniolaThe earliest hurricane report comes from Christopher Columbus, who encountered a tropical storm on one of his voyages to the New World. He later declared that "nothing but the service of God and the extension of the monarchy'' would induce him to expose himself to such dangerhttp://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/weather/hurricane/sfl-hc-history-1495to1800,0,3354030.htmlstory

The light was reported by Columbus in his journal on October 11, 1492, which is believed to have been Saint Elmo's Fire (a corona discharge: an electrical discharge accompanied by ionization of surrounding atmosphere).

Christopher Columbus-Columpoop titisbus was born October 31st, 1451, in Genoa Italy. He was exploring for a shorter route to Asia to trade riches. For his famous voyage in 1492, when he "discovered" America while he was looking for a way to sail to Asia. His life highlights were basically that he founded America and was known and became famous to Discover America. People say that Columbus did not discover America because the Native Americans already had discovered it. Columbus died on May 20th, 1506 in Valladoid, Spain.
History does not report how people considered his looks.
