Why did God say that the Philistines were bad?
God had made a promise to Abraham, to give his offspring a 'Promised Land'. God has the right to give someone any piece of land that he wishes to give them. Whoever resides there, must respect God's right to parcel out the earth. When Abraham's descendants (the Israelites) arrived to take possession of their Promised Land, the Philistines were not about to move. Instead they fought God's people. This is not good. The Philistines disrespected God's decision regarding who is assigned to that portion of land. They could have relinquished the land; and moved back from whence they came from (namely Crete). Because they didn't move; and because they fought God's people, it would not turn out good for them, because Almighty God is much stronger than they were. Therefore God saw to it that they were forcibly removed; or eradicated from the land.

According to the Hebrew Bible, when he arrived in this new land, Canaan(KAY nuhn), God told Abraham: "The whole land of Canaan ... Yes, I believe that God did forgive David for committing adultery, and polygamy. I don't fully understand how God forgives us, but, He promises never to leave us, or give up on us.

Abraham did not give up his life in Ur voluntarily. He left Ur in search of a land promised to him by God. His decision was driven by his faith and obedience to God's commands.
