Jane Seymour (c1504-09 to 1537) was the third wife of Henry VIII, married at the end of May 1536, and declared Queen consort on 4 June. She became pregnant and gave birth to Henry's only legitimate male heir, Edward (later Edward VI) on 12 October 1537. However, the birth had not been an easy one and Jane became very ill, dying within days on 24 October 1537, probably from puerperal fever.
She was buried in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, England; the only wife of Henry VIII to receive a Queen's funeral.
Before he died, Henry VIII (1491 - 1547) requested that he be buried with Jane.
Henry and Jane are therefore buried together in St. George's Chapel.
