How do you stop unwanted junk mail?

It depends on what kind of email you have and if you use a program (Webmail, Outlook, Hotmail, etc.)

What are the Hotmail incoming outgoing settings for the iMac g5 mail program?

You have to use "Outlook connector", which is freely available at micrsoft web site to synchronize with hotmail unless you have a paid (a.k.a premium) account. If you do have a paid account its simple. Just put ur email adderss in the relevent field and outlook will take care of the rest. Or else use the following settings if you prefer to do it manually.Note that this works only if you have a paid hotmail account. otherwise you'll have to download outlook connector from Microsoft and follow the instructions that come along with it.In Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, click Accounts.Click Add, and then click Mail.Type your name, and then click Next.Type your full Windows Live Hotmail e-mail address, and then click Next.Enter the following information, and then click Next:In the My incoming mail server is a box, select POP3.In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, type pop3.live.com.In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type smtp.live.comType the account name and the password for your Windows Live Hotmail account. Clear the Remember password check box unless you're the only person with access to the computer. Make sure that the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check box isn't selected.Click Next, and then click Finish. In the Internet Accounts window, on the Mail tab, click the Windows Live Hotmail account that you added, and then click Properties. On the Advanced tab, under Server Port Numbers, enter the following information, and then click OK:In the Incoming server (POP3) box, type 995.In the Outgoing server (SMTP) box, type 25.Under both Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (POP3), select the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check boxes.Click Close.Note: It is no longer required that you have a paid account for this to work, Microsoft has opened up their POP and SMTP servers for use by free Hotmail account holders. So for the same reason, Outlook Connector is no longer needed either, just set up your free Hotmail account info as stated above. If port 25 has been blocked in your network or by your ISP, you can set SMTP port to 587 with TLS or SSL Encryption depending on the client in use (this is particularly helpful with newer smart phones).

What do you need to send a email?

An e-mail address and a service provider. Go to www.hotmail.com and take out an e-mail address and hotmail will do the rest. All you have to do is type your message, say who you want it to go to, and press send.

What is high importance?

In Email/IM language, a message or a mail of "high importance" is simply an important piece of information. For example, mails of "high importance" are usually marked with a big red exclamation mark in Microsoft Outlook and Hotmail to alert the users of their statuses. One must be careful, however, to remember that anyone can designate his or her mail as being "highly important." A lot of spammers designate their spam-mails as being of "high importance" to attract attention. Take note that just because the e-mail is listed "high importance" or of the "highest priority," does not mean it really is.

What is the difference between webmail and outlook?

There are two general types of mail systems.1. Web Mail or other types of web based mail programs such as hotmail, yahoo, etc.2. Outlook, Outlook Express or other POP3 mail programs such as Outlook, Netscape Mail, and Eudora.Web Mail stores the messages on the mail server on the internet. When you ask for the mail via your browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape), then you are shown a list of headers including who sent the mail, the subject, the date, and the size. If you ask to see a particular message, then the contents of the message are retrieved from the server and shown to you. If you delete the message, it is deleted from the server. If you simply view the message but leave it alone, then it stays on the server and can be viewed again from any computer connected to the internet. This message stays on the server until you tell it to be deleted.POP3 mail systems, like Outlook, use the same mail server, but when you ask for the mail, the message is transferred from the server to the computer making the request. When the transfer is completed, the messages are deleted from the server and the only location that the messages exist is on the machine you moved them to by checking your mail with the POP3 mail program. The advantage of the Web Mail method of viewing your mail is that the messages are stored on a server and can be viewed from any computer with a connection to the internet. This is helpful if you want to check mail from more than one location. Another advantage is that if there are multiple people using the same computer, it is easy to keep each person's mail separate. The disadvantage of the Web Mail system is there is a limit to the number of messages that can be stored on the server. That limit for Chase 3000 is 300 messages. This includes messages in the trash. There is also a time limit to how long you can be connected to the server without activity; this is currently set to 20 minutes. If you take longer than 20 minutes to compose your message, then you may lose your web mail connection to the server. Therefore, if you have not copied the unfinished message to a clipboard, you will have to retype the message. The advantage of using the POP3 system, then, is that there are no limits to the number of messages or to the time it takes to compose the messages. You have functions and features that may not be available via web mail, such as message management. The disadvantage is that once you have downloaded the mail to your computer, you must have access to that same computer to view the messages since this is the only place they exist. They have been erased from the server at the time of the transfer. If you only have one computer in your life, this is not really an issue.
