The first Soviet test of a hydrogen bomb, took place on a tower on August 12, 1953. It used a layer-cake design of alternating fission and fusion fuels (uranium-235 and lithium-6 deuteride) and produced a yield of 400 kilotons, mostly from fusion-neutron-initiated fission rather than fusion. This device however was not what is now considered a hydrogen bomb, instead it would be called a boosted fission bomb. However it was the first bomb using nuclear fusion that was small enough and light enough to be deliverable by bomber.
The first Soviet test of a "true" hydrogen bomb was airdropped and produced a yield of 1.6 megatons on November 22, 1955. This was the world's first actual airdropped fusion bomb.
The Soviet Union (Russia's predecessor) tested its first 'atomic bomb' on August 29th, 1949 "First Lightning" (Первая молния). The first mass produced atomic bomb rolled off the assembly line in 1953.

The first Soviet test of a "true" hydrogen bomb in the megaton range was conducted on November 22, 1955. It was of the multi-staged, radiation implosion thermonuclear design called Sakharov's "Third Idea" in the USSR and the Teller-Ulam design in the USA.

Hitler, he wanted to bomb the Whales. In my case, FrankieThe above is a lie:The Americans developed the first Atomic bomb You should WIKI it as it is a very interesting story.
The US. The USSR stole our plans to make their first bombs.
the atomic bomb was made to end the world war 2
No, USA did.
to make the atom bomb seem less threatning.
uranium
Yes.
Fission and/or fusion.
Well, the technical explanation is very complicated, so I will make it more simple: there are the fission bomb, and the thermonuclear bomb. The fission bomb makes an explosion through the splitting of atom. Atom is the smallest measurement. There are neutrons and photons in a atom. But when you split the atom to make a big explosion, you do not use any atom. We usually use an atom of uranium-235. When the uranium atom is split, the normal amount of neutrons or photons does not come out. Then the neutrons release lots of energy! (Very simple explanation: A fission bomb is a bomb that uses energy from splitting uncontrolled atoms. And a thermonuclear bomb is just opposite to fission bomb, it gets energy from fusion of atoms to make a heavier one.
To make people's lives harder. ;)

Firstly to make the atom bomb in WW2. After that to make electricity
